I like to view this page as an evolution of the kind of bands I've played for. I have played for other bands, but I've linked these pages because they have musical samples. Enjoy!
The Summer Experiment -
June - September 2008
"For me, The Summer Experiment was probably the most ambitious and interesting project I have been a part of. The music itself challenged me to come up with interesting parts, including some really cool poly-rhythmic parts, which I was always wanting to get my teeth into for a long time. I was honoured to play with such talented and interesting musicians."
The Summer Experiment was a musical quartet formed in June 2008 to experiment with music over a short period of time.
The Summer Experiment evolved continually and organically across the defined three month period.
The Summer Experiment used both algorithms and chaos in the production of sonic form to create states of temporary and fixed media. There was no aim, method, result or conclusion. The arrangement of fixed sonic material may be based around theories of metric structure, perception of events, evolution and mistakes. There are no white coats or microscopes however there will be unfair tests conducted in uncontrolled environments with no safety goggles. There may be lab rats.
The Summer Experiment performed live experiments. These were be administered without anaesthetics and there was no refund for unexpected results.
The Summer Experiment existed from June until mid-September 2008. There will be no reunion tour, no greatest hits CD, no dance remixes, and no further experimentation.
The Spandex Wizard
February 2006 - August 2008
"Easily the most fun I've ever had in a band, with 2 of my best friends. Think of Steve Vai in David Lee Roth gear!"
The Spandex Wizard was the solo guitar project of Adrien J Crozet and a small part within the "Blue" Sector of 'Really Acrobatic Music', Adrien's life-long musical filing cabinet!
The intentions behind the act are firstly to offer entertainment with characteristics such as 'virtuosity in instrumentalism', and a French man in Spandex sticking a guitar up his ass, and the security in knowing that this whole musical chunk of the universe is entirely for fun, and as a fore front to the many sidelines which run along-side Adriens more focused musical endeavours.
Much of Adriens music is not of the sort that most would listen to, utilising foreign styles, electro acoustic techniques and textures, folk, metal and seriously individual vibes, mainly about being at one with the earth in a large forest! But back to the Spandex Wizard..
Foot note: Spandex comes in a variety of colours.
The Smallprint
August 2003 - May 2006
"Where it all began! My first real band. Essentially was all about the groove, but it was here where I learned most about staying in the back, but being able to show off some interesting parts amongst the pop-punk sound this band had."
